A READER'S GUIDE TO SWORD & SORCERY

THE CONAN SAGA

The Conan Saga is without doubt the most commericially successful franchise within the genre of Sword & Sorcery. (Critically speaking, probably not.) When Robert E. Howard created Conan in the 1930's for Weird Tales, he did not set out with a rigid chronology, so the series can seem disorganized. L. Sprgaue de Camp and other editors did their best to re-organize and expand the Conan Saga starting in 1967. The latest series began in 1982 under the pen of Robert Jordan.
